Why Give?

Giving is an act of love. Whether it be your time, skills, or finances, when you give you’re expressing your love for the Lord through your act of selflessness. God loves a cheerful giver– no matter the amount, when you step out in faith to give, you will surely receive a multitude back!

Why do we tithe?

Tithing is a partnership with the Lord. God didn’t tell us that a lack of tithing would cause us to not be blessed; however, it’s a way for us to TESTIFY of the blessings He’s given to us. By giving one tenth of all you’ve been blessed with, you’re choosing to honor the Lord and to show His greatness in your life.

Our testimony is so important because when we testify, we overcome. The Bible says in Revelation 12:11 “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb AND by the word of their testimony…” We triumph over the devil and over poverty through our testimony of God’s blessings in our lives. This is why tithing is important for the Believer to practice. Choosing not to tithe won’t stop God from blessing you, but the more you testify the more testimonies you’ll receive.

Moreover, by tithing the Scriptures tell us that the devourer (the devil) will be rebuked for our sake because of honoring the Lord with the tenth of all we receive. Our tithes challenge God to pour out even more abundant blessings in our lives by our act of faith when we give to Him. Try it out for yourself and see the amazing things God will do in your life as a result!

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.  I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty. “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the Lord Almighty. (Malachi 3:10-12)

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.

Martin Luther King, Jr.

God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.
